What we have with the case of Gerry McGeough and the predicament in which he and his family find themselves, is the very selective imprisonment and vindictive persecution of an individual who is an Irish Republican, a direct violation of Strand 3 Prisoners paragraph 1 of the Good Friday Agreement (1998) and a unilateral abrogation of paragraph 20 of the Weston Park Accord under the terms agreed in

2001. A real challenge and one that would prove to us all that the Dissident Unionist Politicians are sincere about seeking justice and equality rather than simply being bigoted old-school Unionists is to call for members of the British Security Forces to be prosecuted for offences committed prior to 1998. This would be Justice and Equality for all. They could begin by seeking justice for the families of the eighty-three innocent and unarmed civilians murdered between 1970 and 1997 in County Tyrone at the hands of British soldiers, RUC, UDR or loyalist death squads in collusion with British Forces.
