An Anti-Treaty Handbill satirising Eoin O’Duffy’s description of the Anglo-Irish Treaty as a ‘step towards the Republic’. O’Duffy was a Monaghan-born Irish Volunteer who subsequently became a Free State General. He was one of the key strategists behind the successful Free State offensive of July–September 1922 which effectively concluded the Civil War in the Provisional Government’s favour.
