The right-wing organization SOS Israel (or in Hebrew Lahava: The Organisation for the Prevention of Assimilation in the Holy Land) has been distributing flyers to young Palestinians in Jerusalem shopping malls and the downtown area, warning them not to date Jewish girls. The flyers warn that an Arab who dates a Jewish girl will be harmed like “the Arab who was injured last week.”
“Dear Arab boy, We don’t want you to get hurt,” the flyer states. “Our girls are dear to us and just as you don’t want a Jewish boy to date your sister, we also aren’t ready for an Arab to date a girl from our people. Just as you would do everything to prevent a Jew from dating your sister, so do we!”
The flyer goes on: “If you think of coming to the pedestrian or shopping mall mall in Jerusalem to go out with Jewish girls, this is not the place. You can walk around your village and find girlfriends there, not by us! Last week an Arab thought of finding Jewish girls and was hurt. We don’t want you to get hurt. Protect the honour of our girls as this is crucial to us.”
